Store sensitive data of customers in PCI Compliant Environment

December 13th, 2007 by admin

During the checkout process, the customers give sensitive information about themselves. It includes their credit card information, their driver’s license information, image information, bank account numbers and in some cases even their social security numbers. It becomes responsibility of the merchant that their site adheres to PCI compliance standards so that all these information is stored in a safe and secure manner with the merchant. After all, an accidental leak of such information will affect the social and financial life of any individual drastically. Even VISA is putting pressure on the merchants. In fact they have announced the new PCI Compliance deadline for Level 2 Merchants on their site.
